The size option, will allow you to change only the size of either everything on the layer, or something you have selected, it works by grabbing onto one of the squared areas, and then dragging in a direction to change the size. If you don’t select anything, then SAI will apply any of the transformations to everything on a current layer, if you select something, then SAI will only apply it to that selection. The other options are there, split up, so you can focus on those transformations, without messing up by using the others accidentally. Transform allows you to do ALL of the options below, all at once.

Now, these are the interesting options, and these are why I wanted to go in-depth on this tool. I have no idea what the Drag Detection does however… Every time I try to see what it does, it doesn’t appear to do anything for me. That said, here’s the options you can use with the Selection Tool:Īlright, that first option, the Autoselect layer, is to just to easily drag whatever is on your current layer around without actually selecting anything, so it automatically drags EVERYTHING on a layer around all at once. Keep in mind, if you use ANY of the other selection tools, you can still use these options on those selected areas, so long as you switch to the Selection Tool. Now, this tool is useful because it has several option that are unique to itself and can only be accessed by using this tool. Of course, like with other selection tools, if you switch to the Selection Brush, or the Deselction Brush, you can expand or modify the selected area. And like with other programs, you get this: Since this isn’t exactly a brush, to use this, you just click and drag to cover the area you want to select, so…just like with other programs.

That said, today’s tool is the Selection tool….which works like it does in every program….Īlright, this is the selection tool, which….works the exact same way as it does in any other program, with a few additions. Well, I know I said I wanted to get into painting and such a couple days ago…but I also said I wanted to go over a few more tools first, because I want to give a bit of a basic idea for using them first.
